Day 1 – Perth to Busselton
Relax and enjoy the ride as we travel south along the scenic South West Highway. Our first stop is the historic town of Pinjarra, where we’ll enjoy our morning tea in the picturesque grounds of Edenvale Homestead – a warm and welcoming start to the journey. We then continue through the peaceful country towns of Waroona and Harvey, arriving in Bunbury in time for a single-course lunch at the beautifully renovated Rose Hotel. This afternoon, our journey continues through the tranquil Tuart Forest and past the historic Wonnerup House, following the coastline by Port Geographe Marina. Our next stop is Busselton, home to the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Choose to take a stroll along the iconic 1.8km jetty or hop aboard the charming red jetty train for a relaxing ride over the bay. Later, we check in to the Abbey Beach Resort, ideally located near the shores of Geographe Bay. Take some time to unwind – whether it’s a beach walk or a refreshing swim – before coming together for a delicious evening meal.
Day 2 – Whale Watching in Dunsborough
After a hearty breakfast, we head to Dunsborough, one of Australia’s top whale-watching destinations. Here, we board a cruise with Naturaliste Charters, led by knowledgeable marine biologists. Cruise along the coastline in search of humpbacks, southern rights, and perhaps even blue whales as they make their annual migration. It’s an awe-inspiring experience and a highlight of the tour. Back on land, we’ll have free time in Dunsborough where you can purchase some lunch from one of the famous bakeries in town, followed by a relaxed return journey to Perth via the Forrest Highway. We’ll make one final stop to stretch our legs and maybe purchase an ice-cream.
